Pericles became one of the most famous and powerful leaders in Athenian history. This Ariphron was connected to the Alcmaeonid family, which was a very powerful and influential group in Athens.

There was also an Ariphron from a city called Sicyon. He was a Greek poet. He wrote a special song of praise called a paean about health. This poem was called Hygeia (which means "Health" in Greek).
