Arlene Buckneberg Ydstie facts for kids
Arlene Buckneberg Ydstie (born April 28, 1928) is an American musician. She is known as a composer, an organist, and a conductor for choirs.
Arlene grew up in Larson, North Dakota. She went to Concordia College in Minnesota. There, she earned a bachelor's degree. She also learned how to lead choirs from a famous conductor named Paul J. Christiansen.
On December 21, 1952, Arlene married Richard Ydstie. After getting married, she continued her musical journey. She studied how to write music (composition) at Central Washington State University. She also taught people how to sing in Benton City, Washington. Later, she became the organist and choir director at Richland Lutheran Church in Richland, Washington.
