The Arlington Historical Museum is a cool place in Arlington, Virginia. It has lots of old and interesting things that tell the story of the area. You can see exhibits that go all the way back to 1608. That's when Captain John Smith met the Algonquin Native Americans. The museum even has a piece of the Pentagon wall. This part was damaged during the sad events of September 11, 2001.

About the Museum
The Arlington Historical Museum first opened its doors in 1962. It is run by a group called the Arlington Historical Society. The museum is located inside an old building that used to be the Hume School.
How the Museum Started
The museum was created to help people learn about Arlington's past. The Arlington Historical Society works hard to keep history alive. They collect and show items from different times.
Helping the Building
In 1985, the state government of Commonwealth of Virginia helped the museum. They gave $35,000 to make the building better. This money was given through a person named Warren G. Stambaugh. He was a state senator who helped get the funding.
Other Historical Sites
The Arlington Historical Society also takes care of another important place. It's called the Ball-Sellers House. This house is very old, built in the 1700s. It is set up like a historic house museum, showing how people lived long ago.
Community Involvement
Besides running the museum and the Ball-Sellers House, the Society is active in the community. They join in many local events each year. This helps more people learn about Arlington's rich history.
