Arne Hjeltnes (born August 9, 1963) is a well-known person from Norway. He is a writer, a television star, a marketer, and also involved in politics.

Early Life and Career Beginnings
Arne Hjeltnes was born in Kristiansand, but he grew up in a place called Voss. He moved to Bærum in 1982. Before becoming famous, he worked as a marketing consultant. He then started working in television.
In 1990, he played a character called Ærlege Arne (Honest Arne) in a show called Hotell on the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. In 1992, he joined TV 2. He also worked as a radio presenter for a short time in the mid-1990s.
Becoming a Writer
Arne Hjeltnes started his writing career in 1993. His first book was a collection of poems called Den sumaren eg fylte diesel. He soon became known for his funny writing.

Television Breakthrough: Gutta på tur
In 1996, Arne Hjeltnes became very popular as the host of the TV 2 travel show Gutta på tur. He hosted the show with famous people like chef Arne Brimi and skiers Vegard Ulvang and Bjørn Dæhlie.
For his work on Gutta på tur, Hjeltnes won awards in 1998 and 2000. He was also voted TV Personality of the Year by readers of Se og Hør in 1998 and 1999.

After the TV show became a hit, Arne Hjeltnes and Arne Brimi wrote books about their travels. They published Gutta på tur in 1997. They had also written a cookbook for the national cross-country ski team in 1995.

After his success with Gutta på tur, Arne Hjeltnes also worked in other fields. From 2003 to 2005, he helped promote Norwegian salmon in Hong Kong. He then worked in New York City for Innovation Norway, which helps Norwegian businesses.
He worked in marketing for a company called Marine Harvest for two years. In 2008, he became the CEO (chief executive officer) of a marketing company called Creuna. He still appears on television sometimes. In 2010, he was in a documentary series about Norwegian shipping history. He also writes columns for a newspaper called Budstikka.
