Arthur Rosenblat Nestrovski was born on December 26, 1959. He is a talented Brazilian artist who does many things. He is a composer, which means he writes music. He is also a guitarist, playing the guitar beautifully.

Besides music, he is a literary and musical critic. This means he writes reviews and shares his opinions about books and music. He is also a writer and an editor. From 2010 to 2022, he was the artistic director for the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra (Osesp). He also directed the Campos do Jordão Festival during the same time. An artistic director helps decide what music is played and how performances are put together.

His Journey and Work

Arthur Nestrovski studied Music at the University of York and finished in 1983. He later earned a PhD in Literature and Music from the University of Iowa in 1990. A PhD is a very advanced university degree.

From 1992 to 2009, he worked as a classical music critic for a newspaper called Folha de S.Paulo. He also worked as an editor for PubliFolha from 1999 to 2009. An editor helps prepare books or articles for publishing.

He taught at PUC / SP from 1991 to 2005. He taught a special course about communication and how signs and symbols work. Later, he decided to focus more on his music career.

Musical Projects

Arthur Nestrovski has released several music albums. Some of his solo guitar CDs include Jobim Violão, Chico Violão, and "Violão Violão". He also released an album of his own songs called Tudo que Gira Parece a Felicidade.

He worked with singer Celso Sim on an album called Pra Que Chorar. In 2016, he released the CD Pós Você e Eu with his daughter, Lívia Nestrovski, who is also a singer. They later released "Sarabanda" in 2020. He also released a solo guitar digital album called "Sarabandas" in 2020.

He often performs with other famous artists. These include Zé Miguel Wisnik, Zélia Duncan, Adriana Calcanhotto, and Paula Morelenbaum. He performs in Brazil and in other countries like Germany, Portugal, and Poland.

Writing for Kids

Arthur Nestrovski is also well-known for writing children's books. In 2003, he won the Jabuti Prize for Fiction Book of the Year. This award was for his book called Bichos Que Existem e Bichos Que Não Existem.
