Aruküla is a small village located in Hiiumaa Parish, which is part of Hiiu County in northwestern Estonia. It is a quiet place with a long history.

A Look Back: Aruküla's History

Aruküla village has been around for a long time! It was first written about in 1688, when it was called Arråküllaby. For many years, the village was connected to large estates. It was part of the Suuremõisa Manor and later, in 1795, it became part of the Soonlepa Manor.

Interestingly, Aruküla was once combined with another village. From 1977 to 1997, it was considered part of the nearby village of Heltermaa. After 1997, Aruküla became its own separate village again.
