Arwind Anaya Santos (born June 10, 1981) is a Filipino professional basketball player. He plays as a power forward or small forward for the Basilan Starhorse team in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).

Arwind Santos's Early Basketball Journey
High School Basketball Success
Arwind Santos was born in Angeles City, Philippines. He played basketball for Lubao Institute during his high school years. His team won the West Central Zone Championship. In 2000, he became well-known for his hard work on the court. He then joined the RQP Team, a local basketball club in Lubao. This team helped him get a spot on the FEU Tamaraws men's basketball team for college.
College Career Highlights
Santos joined the UAAP in 2002 with the FEU Tamaraws. He was named Rookie of the Year in his first season.
In 2003, he led the Tamaraws to their first UAAP title in six seasons. They defeated the Ateneo Blue Eagles. Santos was named Finals MVP for his great performance. He also earned the Defensive Player of the Year award and was part of the Mythical Five team.
He won the Most Valuable Player award in 2004. The Tamaraws were awarded the title that year. He was again part of the UAAP Mythical Five.
In his final year, 2005, he led the team to another title. The Tamaraws achieved a "three-peat" by winning from 2003 to 2005. Santos was named Season MVP and Finals MVP that year. He was also selected for the Mythical Five again.
His jersey number 19 was retired by the FEU Tamaraws. This is a special honor for a player.
Playing in the Philippine Basketball League
In 2003, Santos started playing in the PBL for Viva Mineral Water. He helped his team reach the PBL Unity Cup finals.
In 2004, he led Viva to their first PBL championship. He was named PBL MVP for that tournament. In 2006, he led Magnolia Ice Cream to another PBL title. He was also named to the Mythical Second Team in his last PBL conference.
Arwind Santos's Professional Basketball Career
Starting with Air21 Express (2006–2009)
In the 2006 PBA draft, Arwind Santos was the second player chosen overall. He joined the Air21 Express. He wore the number 29 because his usual number 19 was already taken.
He was one of the top rookies in scoring during his first season. He was also part of the All-Rookie Team.
Years with San Miguel Beermen (2009–2021)
Santos later joined the San Miguel Beermen, one of the most successful teams in the PBA.
In the 2010–11 Philippine Cup, San Miguel had a strong record. In the 2011 PBA Governors Cup, Santos was named Best Player of the Conference. He also led his team to win the championship. He was named the Finals MVP for his excellent play.
In the 2012–13 season, Santos helped the Petron Blaze Boosters reach the Governors Cup finals. He won his second Best Player of the Conference award. He also won his first-ever PBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. He was selected for the Mythical First Team for the sixth year in a row.
In the 2014–15 PBA Philippine Cup, Santos led the San Miguel Beermen to another championship. He was named the Finals MVP for his consistent performance. In 2016, he was recognized as part of the PBA Mythical First Team.
Time with NorthPort Batang Pier (2021–2023)
On November 8, 2021, Santos moved to the NorthPort Batang Pier team after 12 years with the Beermen. He signed a one-year extension with NorthPort in May 2022.
Santos became the oldest player to win the Defensive Player of the Year award for the third time. He was also part of the Mythical First Team and All-Defensive team for the 2021 season. On July 2, 2022, he joined the PBA's 10,000 Point Club. This means he scored over 10,000 points in his career.
Playing for Pampanga Giant Lanterns (2023–2025)
Santos joined the Pampanga Giant Lanterns for the 2023 MPBL season. He made his debut in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League during the 2023 playoffs. The Lanterns went on to win the 2023 MPBL finals. This gave Santos his tenth professional league championship.
He rejoined the Giant Lanterns for a second season on July 1, 2024.

Playing for the National Team
Arwind Santos also played for the Philippine National Team a few times. In 2006, he competed in the 28th Jones Cup.
In 2009, he was part of the Powerade Team Pilipinas. This team finished 8th in the 2009 FIBA Asia Championship.
In August 2010, Santos was considered to join Smart Gilas. This was a developmental team for the Philippine national basketball team. He played in a special game with NBA legends and PBA All-Stars.
In 2012, Santos was invited to join the Smart Gilas Pilipinas 2.0 team. However, his team's management did not approve his participation.
