The Asa Morse Farm is a really old farm in Dublin, New Hampshire. It's also known as the Friendly Farm. This historic farmstead is located right on New Hampshire Route 101.

The main house was built in 1926. It stands on the foundation of an even older house from the early 1800s. This farm is a great example of Colonial Revival architecture. This style was popular when Dublin was a favorite summer spot for many people. The Asa Morse Farm was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. This means it's an important historical site!

What is the Asa Morse Farm?

The Asa Morse Farm is a group of buildings that make up a historic farm. It's found near Dublin Pond in New Hampshire. The farm includes a main house, a barn, and a small cottage. All these buildings were built in 1926.

Who built the farm?

The main house was built on the old foundation of a farmhouse that belonged to Asa Morse. A man named Frederick Brewster had the new buildings constructed. He wanted a summer home and a special farm. He had started developing this property as a summer estate back in 1889.

What happened to the farm later?

In the 1960s, the property became an active farm again. Today, the small cottage on the property is used as a chicken house!

What does the farmhouse look like?

The farmhouse is a good example of the Colonial Revival style. It's a two-and-a-half-story building made of wood. It has a pointed roof and its outside walls are covered with clapboard siding.

Special features of the house

  • It has a chimney right in the middle of the house.
  • The front of the house has five sections, with the main door in the center.
  • The front door has a small, gabled porch over it. This porch is held up by two pairs of columns. These columns are in a style called Federal-style, which was popular a long time ago.
