Attica is a small, unincorporated community in Green County, Wisconsin, United States. An "unincorporated community" means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town with its own government. Instead, it's part of a larger area called the Town of Brooklyn. Attica is located about 5 miles (8 kilometers) north-northwest of Albany, right where County Highways C and X meet.
History of Attica
Attica has had a few different names over the years. Before it was called Attica, the community was known as Winneshiek and then Milford. The name "Attica" came from the local post office. The post office was named after a place called Attica, New York. Eventually, the entire community started using the name Attica as well.
