More than a hundred years ago, in 1900, Auburn was a bit different. It had a high school, which was important for education in the area. There was also a masonic lodge, which is a meeting place for a social and charitable organization. At that time, about 57 people lived in Auburn.
A post office served the community of Auburn for many years. It opened in 1890 and continued to operate until 1953.
