Augusta Joyce Crocheron facts for kids
Augusta Joyce Crocheron (born October 9, 1844 – died March 17, 1915) was an important early writer and a pioneer of the Latter-day Saint faith. She wrote many books, including poetry, stories for children, and biographies about other women.
Her Life Story
Augusta was born in Boston on October 9, 1844. When she was just two years old, her family traveled a long way to San Francisco. They sailed on a ship called the Brooklyn.
In 1867, her parents, John and Caroline Joyce, settled in Utah Territory. In 1870, Augusta married George W. Crocheron. Together, they had five children: three sons and two daughters.
Augusta passed away at her home in Salt Lake City on March 17, 1915.
