He later passed away in Paris, France, on July 21, 1873. Couder became a well-known artist, learning from some of the most famous painters of his time.

Life and Career of Auguste Couder

Auguste Couder studied painting under two very important artists: Jean-Baptiste Regnault and Jacques-Louis David. These teachers helped him develop his skills and unique style.

In 1839, Couder was invited to join the Académie des beaux-arts. This was a big honor, as it meant he was recognized as one of the best artists in France. He also became an officer of the Légion d'honneur. This is a very high award given by the French government for great achievements.

Couder married Cornélie Stouf. Her father, Jean-Baptiste Stouf, was a famous sculptor. Auguste Couder was buried in the Père-Lachaise Cemetery in Paris. This is a famous resting place for many important people.
