Augustin de Romanet de Beaune (born on April 2, 1961) is a French business leader and government advisor. He is currently the chief executive officer (CEO) of Groupe ADP. This company manages many airports, including those in Paris. Before this, he led a big French state bank called Caisse des dépôts et consignations from 2007 to 2012. He also worked in many government jobs between 1986 and 2006.

Early Life and Education

Augustin de Romanet de Beaune grew up in a family with a long history in France. His family has been important in France since the 1300s. He is the oldest son of Luc and Anne Marie de Romanet de Beaune. His brother, Antoine de Romanet, is a Catholic bishop.

Augustin de Romanet went to two very important schools in France. He studied at Sciences Po, which is known for political science. He also went to the École nationale d'administration (ENA). ENA is a special school that trains people for top jobs in the French government. He finished ENA in 1986.

Working for the Government

Augustin de Romanet started his career in the French government. He worked in the finance ministry, helping to manage the country's money. In 1990, he moved to Brussels. There, he advised France on money matters within the European Communities. He returned to the finance ministry in 1993.

In 1995, he worked for different finance ministers. He helped them with their plans and projects. Later, he became a top assistant for the Minister of Budget. He also worked for the Minister of Employment.

From 2005 to 2006, Augustin de Romanet had a very important job. He was a deputy secretary general for the President of France. This meant he was a key helper to the President.

Before his top government roles, Augustin de Romanet worked in the business world. From 1999 to 2002, he was a managing partner at Oddo & Cie. This was a big French investment bank. In 2006, he led the strategy for Crédit Agricole, another major bank.

In 2007, Augustin de Romanet became the chairman of the Caisse des dépôts et consignations. This is a French state bank that manages huge amounts of money. On November 28, 2012, Augustin de Romanet became the CEO of Groupe ADP. This company runs the main airports in Paris. In 2014, he was reappointed for another five years. In 2015, he shared a new plan for ADP called "Connect 2020." This plan aimed to make the Paris airports brand stronger. It also focused on growing the company in other countries. The plan also wanted to make Parisian airports like big concept stores.

Under his leadership, the CDG Express train project was restarted. He also brought many popular stores to the airports. For example, he opened a Victoria’s Secret and a Carrefour City store at Paris-Orly airport. A new fancy lounge was also opened there. Terminal E2 at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport became a luxury shopping area. It was even named the world's 3rd best airport terminal by Skytrax.

In 2012, ADP bought a part of TAV Airports Holding. This made Augustin de Romanet the vice chairman of the board for this Turkish airport company. In 2015, he was chosen to be the president of ACI Europe. This is a big group for airports in Europe.
