Aurélien Bayard Chedjou Fongang (born on June 20, 1985) is a former professional footballer from Cameroon. He was a strong centre back, which is a defensive player in football. He played for several big clubs like LOSC Lille, Galatasaray, and the Cameroon national team.

Aurélien Chedjou's Football Journey
Aurélien Chedjou started his football career in Cameroon. He then moved to Europe to play for different clubs. He became known for his solid defense and leadership on the field.
Early Career and Rise to Fame
Chedjou joined Lille in France at the start of the 2007–08 season. He quickly became an important player for the team. Over five years, he played more than 150 league games.
In 2011, he helped Lille win the Ligue 1 title, which is the top football league in France. They also won the Coupe de France that same year. This was a very successful time for him and the club. He even scored his first goal in the UEFA Europa League in 2010.
Moving to Galatasaray
Because of his great performances at Lille, many big European clubs became interested in Chedjou. On May 25, 2013, he signed a four-year contract with Galatasaray, a famous club in Turkey.
In the 2013–14 season, Chedjou played every minute of Galatasaray's UEFA Champions League games. He even scored a goal against Chelsea in the round of 16.
He played 119 games for Galatasaray over four years. During this time, he helped the team win many trophies.

Later Career and Challenges
In 2017, Chedjou moved to Istanbul Basaksehir. However, he broke his ankle before he could play his first game. This meant he had to wait a long time to make his debut.
Later, on September 2, 2019, he signed a two-year contract with Amiens SC in France. He also played for Bursaspor on loan and later for Adana Demirspor.
Playing for His Country
Aurélien Chedjou also proudly represented his home country, Cameroon. He played for the Cameroon national team from 2009 to 2016.
