Aviation Park MRT station (CR2) is a new underground train station being built in Singapore. It is part of Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system. This station will be the very last stop on the Cross Island MRT line.
The station is located in an area called Changi. It will help people travel easily to and from this part of Singapore.
What is the Cross Island Line?
The Cross Island Line, or CRL, is a new train line. It will connect many different parts of Singapore. This line will make it easier for people to get around. It will also help reduce traffic on the roads.
Why is it called CR2?
You might wonder why this station is called CR2 instead of CR1. The code "CR1" is being kept for a possible future extension. This extension might go towards Changi Airport. This means Aviation Park will be the second station on the line, even if it's the first one built in that direction.
When will Aviation Park Station open?
The plans for Aviation Park station were first shared on January 25, 2019. Building work started in 2020. The station is expected to be finished and open for use by the year 2029.
