What the Movie is About

Aviya often dreams that if she could find her father, everything would get better. She believes her family would be whole again.

Awards the Film Won
Aviya's Summer won many awards. It received prizes in Israel. It also won several international awards. One big award was the Silver Bear Award. This was for amazing artistic work. It was given at the 39th Berlin International Film Festival.
The film also won Best Foreign Film at the San Remo Festival. The director and main actress won Silver Menorah Awards. The movie was chosen to represent Israel. It was considered for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. This was at the 61st Academy Awards. However, it was not chosen as a final nominee.
