Axel Konan's Football Journey
Starting Young in Italy
Even though Axel was born in Ivory Coast, he moved to Italy when he was young. He joined the youth team of a club called Lecce in Southern Italy. This is where he learned to play football at a high level. He made his first professional appearance for Lecce in the year 2000.
Playing for Lecce and Torino
Axel played for Lecce for many years, from 2000 to 2009. During this time, he was a striker, which means his main job was to score goals. For one season, in 2006-2007, he went to play for another Italian club, Torino, on a temporary deal called a loan.
Moving to Switzerland
After his contract with Lecce ended in June 2009, Axel did not have a club for a whole season. He even tried out for another team, Atalanta, but it didn't work out. Then, in November 2010, he signed a one-year contract with a Swiss club called AC Bellinzona. He has been playing there since then.
