Azadliq (which means 'freedom' in Azerbaijani) is a very popular newspaper in Azerbaijan. It is a daily newspaper that focuses on political news and events.
About Azadliq Newspaper
Azadliq started as a weekly newspaper in 1989. It was connected to a political group called the Azerbaijani Popular Front Party. This party worked for changes in Azerbaijan.
How it Started
The very first issue of Azadliq came out on December 24, 1989. The first editor, who was in charge of the newspaper, was Najaf Najafov.
Important People
In 1991, Ganimat Zahid became the new editor of Azadliq. He was born on February 10, 1963. Under his leadership, the newspaper grew. Since 1996, Azadliq has been published every day, bringing news to its readers.
