Bîmen Şen (born Bîmen Dergazaryan, Armenian: Բիմէն Տէրկազարեանn; 1873 – 26 August 1943) was a very talented composer and lyricist. He wrote both music and song words. Bîmen Şen was of Armenian background and became famous for his beautiful Ottoman classical music and Turkish makam music.

Early Life and Musical Beginnings
Bîmen Şen was born in 1873 in a city called Bursa, which was part of the Ottoman Empire back then. His family loved music, and he grew up surrounded by it. From a young age, Bîmen Şen was known for his amazing singing voice.
He started singing hymns in the Armenian church when he was just a child. People quickly noticed how good he was. When he was only eleven years old, he met a very famous musician named Hacı Arif Bey during a visit to Bursa. This meeting was a big moment for young Bîmen.
Becoming a Master Musician
As an adult, Bîmen Şen moved to Istanbul, a large and important city. Moving there helped him a lot. He was able to improve his life and meet many important people from different parts of society.
He got to study music with some of the most influential musicians of his time. These teachers included the famous Hacı Arif Bey, Cemil Bey, Neyzen Aziz Dede, Şevki Dede, Rahmi Bey, Hanende Nedim Bey, and Hacı Kirami Efendi. Learning from these masters helped Bîmen Şen become an even better musician.
Through his hard work and talent, Bîmen Şen became a celebrated singer. He was admired for his compositions and his ability to write lyrics. He passed away in Istanbul on August 26, 1943.
