Backeljaia gigaxii is a type of land snail. It's a small, air-breathing mollusc that lives on land. It belongs to a group of snails called gastropods, and its family is the Geomitridae.
What Does It Look Like?
The shell of this snail is usually about 5 to 8 millimeters tall. It is also about 7 to 12 millimeters wide. The shell has spirals, called whorls, that get bigger quickly.
The opening in the center of the shell, called the umbilicus, is very narrow. However, it gets wider on the last spiral. The shell is often light brown or sandy-colored. It might also have pale bands of color. This snail's shell is usually flatter and larger than a similar snail called Candidula intersecta.
