Baeden Ty Choppy was born on April 14, 1976, in Mackay, Queensland, Australia. He is a former Australian field hockey player. Baeden was a skilled striker for the Australian men's national hockey team. This team is often called the Kookaburras.
Baeden Choppy helped his team win a bronze medal. This happened at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. Winning an Olympic medal is a huge achievement for any athlete.

Playing and Coaching
After his time as an Olympic athlete, Baeden continued his involvement in hockey. Since 2004, he has been working as a player-coach. He coached a hockey team in the North Premier League in England. This role allowed him to share his experience. He helped develop new players while still playing himself.
Return to Playing
In 2017, Baeden Choppy returned to playing hockey in Australia. He joined the Kedron Wavell Wolves team. This team plays in the Brisbane hockey league. It was a special return for him. He reunited with his former Olympic teammate, Matthew Smith (field hockey). Matthew Smith is currently the top-grade coach at the Kedron Wavell Wolves Club.
