Bagua Grande is a town in northern Peru. It is located in the Amazonas region. This town is the main city of Utcubamba Province and Bagua Grande District.
About 42,396 people live in Bagua Grande. It used to be a small farming area. But in the 1960s, many people moved there. This made it grow into a bigger town. Locals call it Corazón de Amazonas. This Spanish name means 'Heart of Amazonas'.

The town's economy relies on two main things. These are trade and farming. Farmers grow important crops like rice, corn, and coffee. The coffee from this area is known for being very good.
People in Bagua Grande trade a lot. They trade with cities like Chiclayo and Jaén. They also trade with the nearby San Martín region. There are also some small factories. These factories process rice and bottle carbonated water.
