Bananya (ばなにゃ) is a super cute Japanese anime TV show. It's all about a tiny, white cat that lives inside a banana peel! The first season of Bananya aired in Japan from July to September 2016.
Later, a second season called Bananya and the Curious Bunch came out. It aired from October to December 2019. Fans outside of Japan can watch both seasons online through Crunchyroll.

What is Bananya About?
The story of Bananya starts with the amazing discovery of a new type of tiny cats. These special cats live inside bananas! The anime shows us their daily lives. They try to live as best as they can in a normal house.
The main character, Bananya, has a big dream. He wants to take a bath in chocolate with all his banana cat friends. It's a fun and silly adventure!
Meet the Characters

- Narrator
- This is the voice that tells you what's happening in the show.
- In the first season, the narrator is voiced by Yoshikazu Ebisu in Japanese and Mike Toole in English.
- In the second season, Kana Yūki voices the Japanese narrator and Lindsay Sheppard voices the English narrator.
- Bananya (ばなにゃ)
- This is the main character! He's a white cat who lives inside a banana.
- Voiced by Yuki Kaji in Japanese.
- Tabby Bananya (とらばなにゃ, Tora Bananya)
- A Bananya with tabby cat stripes.

How Bananya Was Made
The idea for Bananya came from a stationery company called Q-Lia. They are known for creating cute characters.
The first Bananya TV anime series started airing on July 4, 2016. It finished on September 26, 2016. Kyō Yatate directed the show. It was made by the studio Gathering, with help from TMS Entertainment. Each episode is short, only about three minutes long. The ending song for the first season is "Lucky Holiday."
Outside of Asia, Crunchyroll helped bring the first series to fans around the world. In North America, Discotek Media released the show on home video. They also made an English version of the show.
On August 7, 2019, it was announced that a second anime series was being made. It was called Bananya and the Curious Bunch (ばなにゃ ふしぎななかまたち, Bananya Fushigi na Nakamatachi). This new season aired from October 1, 2019, to December 24, 2019. Crunchyroll also licensed this second season for international viewers. Discotek Media again handled the home video release and English dub in North America.
