The Bangladesh Tea Research Institute (BTRI) is a special place in Bangladesh. It's like a science lab for tea! This institute works under the Bangladesh Tea Board. Its main job is to help grow better tea in Bangladesh. It is located in Sreemangal Upazila, Moulvibazar District.
History of Tea Research
Long ago, in 1957, a group called the Pakistan Tea Board started a small tea research station. This station was in a place then known as East Pakistan. It was set up to study tea plants.
Later, in 1973, Bangladesh became an independent country. The government of Bangladesh decided to make this station bigger. They turned it into a full research institute. That's how the BTRI was officially formed!
