Barbara Greenwood (born September 14, 1940) is a Canadian author who writes books for kids and teens. She was also a teacher for many years. She even led a group called the Canadian Society of Children's Authors, Illustrators and Performers (CANSCAIP).

About Barbara Greenwood
Barbara Greenwood was born in Toronto, Canada. Her birth name was Barbara Auer. She went to Toronto Teachers College to become a teacher. Later, she earned a degree from the University of Toronto.
She spent several years teaching in elementary schools. She also taught creative writing to high school students and adults. This helped her share her love for storytelling.

Barbara Greenwood became the president of CANSCAIP. This group helps Canadian authors, illustrators, and performers who create works for children. She also helped edit many books published by CANSCAIP.
Writing Achievements
Barbara Greenwood has written many short stories and articles. Her story "A Major Resolution" won the Vicky Metcalf Short Story Award. Her work has appeared in the Canadian Children's Annual and other collections.
In 1966, she married Robert E. Greenwood. They have four children. One of her children is Ed Greenwood, who created the popular fantasy world called Forgotten Realms.
