Barberitos is a popular American restaurant chain. It's known for serving fresh, healthy food inspired by Mission burritos. The first Barberitos restaurant opened in Athens, Georgia, in the United States. The name "Barberitos" comes from its founder, Downing Barber, and the word "burrito."

History of Barberitos
How the Idea Started
The idea for Barberitos came from Downing Barber. He wanted to eat healthy food without spending too much money. He noticed a restaurant in Aspen, Colorado that served fresh meals. This gave him the idea to create his own restaurant.
Opening and Growth
The very first Barberitos restaurant opened its doors in downtown Athens in January 2000. The company faced some challenges at the beginning. However, by 2010, things started to get much better for the business.
In 2019, a famous NFL player named David Pollack joined Barberitos. He used to play football for the University of Georgia (UGA). He became a special ambassador for the brand.
On February 20, 2020, Barberitos celebrated a big milestone: its 20th anniversary!
In May 2022, another company called Woworks bought Barberitos.
