Barksdale is a very small community in the Texas Hill Country in the U.S. state of Texas. It is located in Edwards County. It is called an unincorporated community because it does not have its own local government like a city does. It is also a census-designated place (CDP), which means the U.S. Census Bureau has defined it for gathering population data.
In 1990, Barksdale had about 617 people and six businesses. By 2000, the number of people grew to 1,081, and there were sixteen businesses. The latest count from the 2020 census showed a population of 91 people.
