Bartlettsville is a small, unincorporated community located in Lawrence County, Indiana, United States. It is part of Pleasant Run Township. An unincorporated community means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town with its own local government.
History of Bartlettsville
Bartlettsville was first planned and mapped out in 1860. This process is called "platting." A man named Samuel J. Bartlett created the original map for the community. The area was then named after him.
Years later, in 1886, a post office was opened in Bartlettsville. This allowed people living there to send and receive mail easily. The post office served the community for nearly 20 years. It eventually closed down in 1905.
