Bartosz Piasecki was born in a town called Tczew in Poland. When he was two years old, his family moved to Norway. His father, Mariusz Piasecki, is also a fencing champion. Mariusz won 12 medals in Polish Championships. He also represented Poland in international fencing events. Bartosz studied computer science at the University of Oslo.

Bartosz Piasecki won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. This was in the men's individual épée event. He lives in Oslo, Norway, and fences for the Bygdø Fekteklubb. His father, Mariusz Piasecki, is his coach. Bartosz uses his right hand when he fences.
