Basil Wallace (born January 15, 1951) is an actor, playwright, and director from Jamaica and the United States. He is also an acting teacher.

Early Life
Basil Wallace was born in Kingston, Jamaica. When he was a child, he moved to the United States with his four brothers and sisters. His family first lived in Brooklyn, New York City. Later, they moved to Long Island, where he went to Hempstead High School.
Career
After high school, Basil Wallace became very interested in theater. He went to New York University for two years. During this time, he acted in his first play that was not on Broadway.
He spent many years working in New York. He wrote plays, acted in them, and directed them.
Early Theater Work
Early in his career, Basil Wallace worked with the La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club. This is a famous theater group in New York City. In 1972, he acted in a show called "Short Bullins." This show included four short plays. His acting group then took these plays on tour to Italy. He also acted in another play called Sister Sadie in 1972.
Basil Wallace also helped create plays. In 1973, he co-wrote and directed a play called Sounds of a Silent Man. In 1977, he directed Lament for Rastafari. He returned to La MaMa in 1987 to direct a reading of another play.
Teaching and Directing
Basil Wallace taught at the Lincoln Center Theater for ten years. He was also the drama director for a school district in the Bronx. For two years, he directed the Mini-Mobile Theatre. He was one of the first people to help start the Caribbean American Repertory Theatre. He was its artistic director for the first year.
Moving to Hollywood
In 1990, Basil Wallace moved to Los Angeles. He tried out for a movie called Marked for Death. He got the part of the main bad guy, named Screwface. Since then, Basil Wallace has continued to act in many movies and TV shows.
