Bastien Kaltenbacher (born May 20, 1991), known as Bastian Baker, is a singer and songwriter from Switzerland. He is famous for his pop and country music.

Bastian Baker's Music Journey
Bastian Baker was born in Lausanne, Switzerland. His dad was a professional ice hockey player. Bastian first wanted to follow in his dad's footsteps and play hockey. He played for a junior hockey team called "Lausanne 4 Clubs."
How Bastian Baker Started in Music
Even though he loved hockey, Bastian was also very interested in music. He joined his school choir in Villeneuve. There, he often got to sing solo parts. In 2010, a friend's parent saw him perform at a party. This person offered to help Bastian record his songs.
His first song, "Lucky," came out in March 2011. It quickly became popular in Switzerland. Bastian then performed at big music events like the Caprices Festival and the Montreux Jazz Festival.
First Album Success
Bastian released his first album, Tomorrow May Not Be Better, on September 9, 2011. The album was a huge hit! It reached number 3 on the Swiss music charts. It also topped the charts in the French-speaking part of Switzerland.
In 2012, Bastian won the "Best Breaking Act" award at the Prix Walo. This is a major music award in Switzerland. After this success, he was invited to perform on a French TV show called Taratata. His album was also released in France in April 2012, and his song "Lucky" became popular there too.
Dancing and Touring
In late 2012, Bastian took part in the French TV show Danse avec les stars. This is like "Dancing with the Stars." He danced with Katrina Patchett and finished in 7th place.
In 2018, Bastian Baker got to open for all the shows on Shania Twain's "Now Tour." He even sang her song "Party for Two" with her during her concerts.
Back to Hockey
On August 20, 2020, Bastian Baker signed a one-year contract to play ice hockey again. He joined a team called HCV Martigny in Switzerland's third-tier league. This showed he still loved the sport!
