The Batsto River is a beautiful river in southern New Jersey. It flows for about 22.9 miles (36.9 kilometers) through a special area called the Pine Barrens. The Batsto River is a smaller river that eventually flows into the larger Mullica River. It also collects water from a large area of land, about 49.42 square miles (128 square kilometers).

Where the River Starts
The Batsto River begins in a place called Tabernacle Township. As it flows, several smaller streams join it. These include Skit Branch, Deep Run, Springer's Brook, Penn Swamp Branch, and Goodwater Run.
The river then reaches a historic spot called Batsto Village. Here, a dam was built a long time ago, which created a beautiful lake called Batsto Lake.
The River's Journey
After leaving Batsto Village, the river continues its journey for a few more miles. Finally, it meets the Mullica River at a spot known as The Forks. This is where the two rivers join together.
