History of Beach, Missouri
The community of Beach has an interesting past with a few name changes!
Early Names and Post Office
When the area first started, it was known by different names like "Attebury" and "Atteberry." A post office was first opened in Beach in 1897. This was an important place where people could send and receive mail.
Name Changes and Closure
In 1903, the name of the post office was officially changed to Atteberry. However, it didn't stay open for very long after that. The post office closed down just three years later, in 1906.
How Beach Got Its Name Today
Even though the post office closed, the community continued. Postal officials later decided to give the area its current name, "Beach." This is how the small community got the name it still uses today.
