Beast Wars II: Super Life-Form Transformers (ビーストウォーズII 超生命体トランスフォーマー, Bīsuto Wōzu Sekando Chō Seimeitai Toransufōmā) is a Japanese anime series from 1998. It is part of the popular Transformers universe. This show also led to a movie and a line of toys.
The series aired on TV Tokyo in Japan from April 1998 to January 1999. It was the first Transformers anime made by Nihon Ad Systems and animated by Ashi Productions. Beast Wars II came after Beast Wars: Transformers and before Super Life-Form Transformers: Beast Wars Neo.
This anime was made for a younger audience, especially children. It has a more fun and lighthearted feel than the earlier Beast Wars show. Unlike its predecessor, which used CGI, Beast Wars II uses traditional animation. Most of the toys for the show were new versions or repaints of older Beast Wars or Generation 2 toys.
Besides the 43 TV episodes, there's also a 50-minute movie called Beast Wars II: Lio Convoy's Close Call!. This movie takes place between episodes 32 and 38. There was also a manga (comic book) version of the story by Shoji Imaki. The anime and manga were also released in Korea.

Toy Line for the Series
The toys for Beast Wars II were mostly repainted versions of older Beast Wars figures. Some were also repaints of Generation 2 figures. This included two Autoroller figures that were never released before. There was also a black Dreadwing/Smokecreen repaint. These were planned for a toy set in 1996 that was canceled.
The toys were often recolored and slightly changed. For example, five of the Seacons were repainted to become new Predacon characters.
However, some characters did get brand new toy designs. These included Lio Convoy and Galvatron. The Tako Tank also got a new toy mold. Older characters like Trypticon from Generation 1 and Dinobot, Cybershark, Wolfang, and Waspinator from Beast Wars were updated. They were remolded into "upgraded" versions like Megastorm, Starscream, BB, Dirge, and Thrust.
One of the remolded toys, Cybershark, was later released in the U.S. as Overbite. It was part of the Universe toy line.
