Rebecca "Becky" Griffin is an Israeli-American television host, model, actress, and sports journalist. She was born on December 27, 1977.
About Becky Griffin
Becky Griffin was born in Givatayim, Israel. Her mother, Ariela, worked as an accountant for a bookstore. Becky's father, Bob Griffin, is American-born. He played professional basketball in Israel during the 1970s. He is also a professor who teaches English Literature.
Becky started her career early. At age 11, she appeared in a commercial. She then starred in many other commercials and campaigns. She worked as a sports reporter for the Israeli Sport 5 Channel. She also hosted shows for young people on Channel 1. Becky also reported for other TV programs. In 2003, she acted in an Israeli drama movie called Matana MiShamayim.
Becky's Career in Media and Modeling
On May 12, 2003, Becky became an MTV VJ. A VJ introduces music videos on TV. She worked for MTV Europe and left her job at the Israeli sports channel. Before 2005, Becky lived in the United Kingdom. There, she hosted shows like Dance Floor Chart and World Chart Express. She also hosted many special shows across Europe.
While in the UK, Becky was chosen for a big advertising campaign. She starred in the Nissan Micra car campaign all over Europe. In December 2003, she became the main model for the Israeli fashion company Castro.
Becky returned to Israel in 2005. A year later, she started studying cinema and television. She attended Tel Aviv University (TAU). She also helped the Student Union as a media advisor. This was during student protests in 2006 and 2007.
In 2008, Becky reported on the EuroLeague for Israel's Channel 10. In 2010, she hosted "Inside Israeli Basketball." This show was about Israeli basketball and aired on several American TV channels.
In August 2011, Becky noticed something important. The Nivea Cosmetics website did not list Israel as a country. However, it did include the Palestinian territories. Becky wrote a letter to Nivea and shared it online. Many people supported her. Soon after, Nivea's website added Israel to its list of countries. Nivea explained that the website for Israel was still being built.
