Beech is a small, unincorporated community in Warren County, Iowa, in the United States. An unincorporated community is a place that doesn't have its own local government, like a city or town. It's located near the crossing of County Road S31 and Highway 92. Beech is about one mile east of Sandyville and five miles west of Pleasantville.
History of Beech
Beech was started in 1911. It began as a "railroad town," which means it grew up around a train line or station.
The community was first called New Sandyville. However, people living in the nearby town of Sandyville didn't like this name. So, the community was renamed Beech. This new name honored someone who worked for the railroad.
In 1940, about 133 people lived in Beech.
