History of Belfast, Ohio
Belfast was established in 1834. It was named after the much larger city of Belfast in Northern Ireland.
Post Office and Name Changes
The community first got a post office in 1845. At that time, it was called "Bell." Later, in 1910, the name of the post office was officially changed to "Belfast." The post office served the community for many years before it finally closed down in 1944.
