Belle, Sebastian and the Horses was a children's television show from 1968. It was a follow-up to an earlier show called Belle and Sebastian (from 1965). The main character, Sebastian, was played by the same actor, Mehdi El Glaoui. This show was filmed in France and originally had a French title, Sébastien parmi les hommes. The BBC in the United Kingdom later gave it the English title. There were 13 episodes, and they were all in color!
What Happens in the Show?
In this series, Sebastian goes on an exciting adventure to a horse ranch. He spends time learning about and being around horses.
Where is Belle?
You might wonder about Belle, the dog from the first series! The English title of the show, Belle, Sebastian and the Horses, might be a little confusing. Belle only appears for a short time in this series. She gets separated from the horses because she barks at them. So, this show is mostly about Sebastian and his new adventures with horses.
How Popular Was It?
This show was not quite as popular as the first Belle and Sebastian series. However, the BBC did show it again a couple of times after it first aired in late 1968. It was also shown once by RTÉ, which is a television channel in Ireland.
