Maribel Pérez (born on January 29, 1976), known to her fans as Belle Perez, is a talented musician and songwriter from Belgium with Spanish roots. She is famous for her lively pop and Latin music.

Belle was born in Neerpelt, Belgium. Her parents were from Spain. In 1997, when she was 21, a music producer named Patrick Renier discovered her at a local talent show. This was the start of her amazing music career!

Her Musical Journey

In 1999, Belle took part in the Belgian tryouts for the Eurovision Song Contest 1999. After that, her music career really took off. She began with pop music. But in 2002, she changed her style to a mix of Latin and pop. She even started her own band called "Baila Perez." Her album with the same name was a huge hit. It stayed at the top of the Belgian music charts for many weeks!

By 2006, Belle had become very popular in Belgium and the Netherlands. She also started hosting a popular Dutch music TV show. She tried again for the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest but finished in 3rd place. Her album, Gotitas De Amor, came out in August 2006. Later that year, she released a ballad called "Hoy (Le pido a dios)" from the same album.

In May 2007, Belle performed a big "Mega Latino" concert at the Sportpaleis in Antwerp. About 15,000 people came to watch her! She also planned to release a CD in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Her song "El mundo bailando" was rumored to be the first single there. Before summer, she released "Amor Latino" in Belgium and the Netherlands, which reached number 11 on the charts.

In June 2007, her album Gotitas De Amor and single "El Mundo Bailando" were released in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. She also recorded a new song called "Djolei! Djolei!" which came out in Belgium and the Netherlands in June 2007. This song was perfect for summer, and she hoped to win another Radio 2-Summer-Award-Trophy with it.

Life and Career Milestones

In 2008, Belle released her new album called Gipsy. It quickly made it into the top 10 in both Belgium and the Netherlands. People in the Netherlands really started to love her music, and she began performing there more often than in Belgium.

In 2009, Belle celebrated 10 years in music! To mark this special event, a book was published about her journey, and a DVD of a concert without an audience was released. A big concert was planned for the fall of 2009. However, it was later changed to a smaller, sold-out concert. Belle and her team announced that she would try new music styles and look for international opportunities. She also changed managers, working with Hugo Foets.

For two years in a row, Belle was a special musical guest in the Holiday on Ice Shows. She performed in Belgium in 2008 and in the Netherlands in 2009. After these shows, she focused on her new theater tour in the Netherlands, called "Latino Mundial."
