Bellwood is a community in Chesterfield County, Virginia, in the United States. It's called a census-designated place (CDP) because it's a special area defined for counting people. In 2010, about 6,352 people lived there. Bellwood got its name from an old estate nearby, which was one of the James River Plantations.
