Ben Cameron's Cricket Career

Playing for South Australia

Ben Cameron played cricket for South Australia from 2004 to 2007. He was a right-handed opening batsman, which means he was one of the first players to bat for his team.

He played in ten first-class cricket games. These are the longest form of the game, often lasting several days. He also played in nine List A games, which are shorter, one-day matches.

Memorable Debut

In his very first Sheffield Shield game, which is a major Australian first-class competition, Ben Cameron played against the Victoria team. He made a great start by scoring two half-centuries. A half-century means scoring 50 runs or more in one turn at bat.

Moving from Player to Coach

Ben Cameron stopped playing cricket in 2007 because of a knee injury. After his playing career ended, he started coaching. He coached cricket teams in South Australian Premier Cricket.

Coaching in Vanuatu

In March 2022, Ben Cameron took on important roles with Vanuatu Cricket. He became the high performance manager and the head coach of the Vanuatu national cricket team. A high performance manager helps players train and get better. The head coach leads the team and plans their strategies. He left these roles in January 2023.
