Ben Davis is a former professional Australian rules football player. He played for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was born on May 19, 1997.
Early Life and Family Connections
Ben Davis was part of the Sydney Swans's junior academy. This is a program that helps young players develop their skills. However, he could not be picked by the Swans in the draft. This was because he did not sign up for the AFL draft before he turned 18.
Ben comes from a family with a strong sports background. His brother, Abe Davis, was drafted by the Sydney Swans in 2014. His father, Graham Davis, played basketball for the Sydney Kings. Ben's father's family is from the Kusu clan. They originally come from Thursday Island in the Torres Strait Islands.
Football Career Highlights
Ben Davis was chosen by the Adelaide Football Club in the 2016 AFL draft. He was their final pick, number 75 overall. He joined the team in 2017.
In 2018, Ben played in the SANFL, which is a state league. He became Adelaide's top goalscorer in that league. He made his AFL debut in Round 15 of the 2019 season. He played against the Geelong Cats at GMHBA Stadium.
Ben played 11 AFL games for the Adelaide Football Club. He scored one goal during his time with the team. He was removed from the team's list in October 2022.
