Early Life and Background

Ben Jones was born in Orange, New South Wales, Australia. This is a city located in the central west of New South Wales.

Playing Career Highlights

Ben Jones started his top-level rugby league career with the Sydney Roosters. He made his first appearance in the NRL in 2008. This was during Round 23 of the 2008 NRL season, in a game against the Melbourne Storm.

Time with the Sydney Roosters

In the 2009 NRL season, Ben Jones played 21 games for the Roosters. The team finished last on the league table that year. This was the first time they had finished last since 1966.

In 2010, Ben Jones was chosen to play for the Indigenous All Stars team. This was for their yearly game against the NRL All Stars. He joined the team after another player, PJ Marsh, had to withdraw due to an injury. The Roosters reached the 2010 NRL Grand Final in the 2010 season. However, Ben Jones was not part of the squad that played in the Grand Final. The Roosters lost that match to the St George Illawarra Dragons.

After playing 27 NRL matches for the Sydney Roosters, Ben Jones moved to the North Queensland Cowboys for the 2011 season.

Playing for the North Queensland Cowboys

During the 2011 NRL season, Ben Jones was chosen to fill in for the Cowboys' captain, Johnathan Thurston. He played in the important halfback position.

Return to the Roosters and Later Career

Ben Jones returned to the Sydney Roosters in 2013. He played for their reserve grade team, the Newtown Jets. In November 2013, it was announced that he would join the Parramatta Eels. This was for a "train and trial" period before the 2014 season began.
