Lipman Heilprin (Hebrew: ליפמן היילפרין) was born on December 10, 1902, and passed away on September 26, 1968. He was an important Israeli doctor. He was the director of the Neurology Department at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem. Neurology is the special field of medicine that deals with the brain, spinal cord, and nerves.

About Lipman Heilprin

Lipman Heilprin was born in 1902 in a city called Białystok, which is in Poland. He studied medicine in Germany. In 1934, he moved to Mandate Palestine. This was the name for the area that is now Israel, before it became an independent country. In 1952, Dr. Heilprin wrote a special version of the Hippocratic Oath in Hebrew. The Hippocratic Oath is a promise doctors make to always help their patients and do their best.

Awards and Achievements

Dr. Heilprin received a very special award called the Israel Prize. This prize is given to people in Israel who have made great achievements. He was the first person ever to receive the Israel Prize for medicine. He got this award in 1953, which was the very first year the prize was given out.
