Benita Armstrong was born in Germany into a Jewish family. In 1926, she moved to London, England. She lived in a flat on Charlotte Street.
In 1932, Benita married a British artist named John Armstrong. She studied art with a sculptor from Vienna named Georg Ehrlich.
Her Art Career
Benita Armstrong's sculptures were often shown in art exhibitions. These were group shows where many artists displayed their work. She also regularly had her art featured in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions, which are very important art events in London.
In 1981, Benita had her own special art show, called a solo exhibition, at the Drian Galleries in London. This was a chance for people to see many of her works all in one place.

Benita and John Armstrong later separated. She then married George Russell Strauss, who was a politician from the Labour Party. They had two children together.
