Benny Lindelauf (born 15 December 1964) is a Dutch writer. He is well-known for creating exciting stories for children and young people. His books have won many important awards.
About Benny Lindelauf
Benny Lindelauf started his writing career in 1998. His very first book was called Omhoogvaldag. This book was a collection of sixteen short stories. He has also written many stories for popular children's magazines. These include Okki and Taptoe.
Over the years, Benny Lindelauf has received several big awards for his books. In 2004, he won the Thea Beckmanprijs for his book Negen open armen. This same book also earned him the Gouden Zoen award in 2005.
In 2011, his book De hemel van Heivisj won multiple awards. It received the Nienke van Hichtum-prijs, the Dioraphte Jongerenliteratuur Prijs, and the Woutertje Pieterse Prijs. These awards show how much his stories are loved and respected.
Later, in 2017, he was given the Gouden Lijst award for his book Hoe Tortot zijn vissenhart verloor. In 2021, he won the Woutertje Pieterse Prijs again. This time it was for Hele verhalen voor een halve soldaat, which he wrote with Ludwig Volbeda.
