The Benson Tower is a tall office building in New Orleans, Louisiana. It stands 26 stories high, reaching about 406 feet (124 meters) into the sky. This impressive skyscraper is located at 1450 Poydras Street, right in the heart of the city's main business area, known as the Central Business District.
The building has had a few names over the years. It was first known as Dominion Tower, then CNG Tower. On September 15, 2009, Tom Benson, who owned the New Orleans Saints football team, bought the building. He then renamed it the Benson Tower.
Many different businesses and organizations have offices here. In 2012, Ochsner Health System, a large healthcare provider, moved many of its administrative staff into the tower. They occupy the top four floors, plus parts of the second and third floors. These lower floors even have balconies that look out over Champions Square and the Caesars Superdome.
The second floor is also used by WVUE, a local TV station. They use the space for their morning news shows and for broadcasting sporting events. The Benson Tower is a very busy place. By August 2012, almost all of its office space was rented out.
