Bernadette Iguptark Tongelik (1931-1980) was an amazing Inuk artist. She was famous for making sculptures, which are artworks created by shaping materials like stone or wood.
Tongelik was born in a place called Wager Bay. She later passed away in Repulse Bay (now known as Naujaat). Both of these places are in the Northwest Territories but are now part of Nunavut, Canada's newest territory.
Her beautiful artwork can be found in important places. These include the National Gallery of Canada, which is a big art museum. Her art is also part of the Government of Nunavut's collection and the Winnipeg Art Gallery.
