Bernadette Kanter is a talented French artist who creates amazing sculptures, mostly using bronze. She was born in 1950 in a place called Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray in Normandy, France.
About Bernadette Kanter
Bernadette Kanter studied art in Paris at famous schools like the College of Artistic Careers and the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts. She also attended the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Montparnasse. After finishing her studies in 1974, she opened her own art studio in Buchelay, which is near Paris.
She also learned about gemology, which is the study of gemstones. Plus, she gained lots of hands-on experience in different sculpture workshops. She learned how to sculpt, make molds, cast metal, and carve directly into materials.
One of her most famous works is Dogs of the bridge guard, created in 2002 for the city of Mantes-la-Jolie. These are two bronze dog sculptures that stand proudly at the entrance to the city, near the Peronnet bridge. In 2004, she made a special aircraft-bird sculpture called Nungesser and Colis for a company called Aérospatiale.

Bernadette Kanter has received several important awards for her amazing sculptures:
- 1988 She won the Second Grand-Prix at the International Biennial of Quebec in Canada.
- 1995 She received a Gold Medal at the National Exhibition of Wildlife Artists.
- 1999 She was awarded the Silver Medal from the Academy of Arts Sciences and Letters in Paris.
- 2001 She earned a Gold Medal for Sculpture from the French Artists Sociétaires Taylor Foundation.
