Beth Reekles (whose real name is Beth Reeks, born on June 7, 1995) is a popular author from Wales. She writes exciting stories for young adults, which are often called young adult fiction. She is most famous for her book series The Kissing Booth, which also became very popular movies on Netflix.

Beth Reekles was born on June 7, 1995, in Newport, Wales. She grew up there and went to school locally. Later, she studied physics at Exeter University.
How She Started Writing
When Beth was 15, she felt like she had read enough stories about "vampires and werewolves." So, she decided to write her own story. This became her first young adult novel, The Kissing Booth.
She shared her story chapter by chapter on Wattpad. Wattpad is a website where people can share their own stories. The Kissing Booth quickly became super popular! It even won the Wattpad 2011 prize for the Most Popular Teen Fiction.
When Beth was just 17 years old, a big publishing company called Penguin Random House offered her a contract. This meant they wanted to publish three of her books!
Her Published Books
The Kissing Booth was officially published by Penguin Random House in 2012. After that, she released two more books: Rolling Dice in 2013 and Out of Tune in 2014.
In 2013, Time magazine named her one of "The 16 Most Influential Teens." The next year, in 2014, The Times newspaper also listed her as one of the "Top 25 under 20 The new icons of a generation."
The Kissing Booth Movies
The Kissing Booth book was turned into a movie! The film, also called The Kissing Booth, came out on Netflix in 2018. It became a huge hit!
Because the first movie was so popular, Beth wrote a sequel called The Kissing Booth 2: Going the Distance, which was published in 2020. A movie based on this book, The Kissing Booth 2, also premiered on Netflix in the same year.
A third movie, The Kissing Booth 3: One Last Time, came out on Netflix on August 11, 2021. A new book with the same title was released to go along with it.
Beth has also written books for adults. Her first adult novel, Love, Locked Down, was published in 2022. Her novel Faking It was published in 2023.
